Special thanks to former SFBA President Peter Thorner for this warning about a change in protocol for parking at Larkspur near the Prison Gates. The area in the Red Triangle above will start to be ticketed. You have been warned.
The supervisory guard at San Quentin has been warning sailors that parking in the area in the Red Triangle above would result in a ticketi. There is a no trespassing sign attached to the prison sign but not something you would notice if you were rolling in to park past the path down to the beach on the water side. Sadly this reduces parking by about 5 spaces but it also seems reasonable they want some buffer area given they move prisoners through that gate.
While this issue had popped up in the past the prison seems really serious about it now. While this is a bummer it does make sense that the Prison gate would need this buffer zone so lets do our best respect the request.
